Gerald "Jerry" Koblin ObituaryGerald N. Koblin, 88 years old, passed late in the evening on December 23, 2025 after battling a long illness. Jerry lived all his life in the Village of Nyack, and after attending the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy he returned to run Koblin’s Pharmacy with his father David. His first priority was always his customers…whether it be a prescription for a sick child, emergency home delivery for those in need, or having an in-house charge system for those unable to pay at the moment. Within the pharmacy itself many employees became like family, with relationships continuing long after the employment ended. The family run pharmacy was a pillar in the Nyack community for over 80 years. Jerry loved the community and people of Nyack, giving to many local charities and organizations as well as serving on various local committees. In addition, Jerry spent many years involved with The Westchester and Rockland Society of Pharmacists, supporting other pharmacists and throwing some amazing dinner dances along the way. Later in life he became a board member of Oak Hill Cemetery, helping to bring to fruition the mausoleum he will be laid to rest in. Jerry was truly devoted to his community and family, and will be missed by many. He is survived by his loving wife Petrina, loving daughter Melissa and granddaughter Taylor. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. on Monday, December 29th and funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 30th at 10 a.m. at Hannemann Funeral Home in Nyack. https://hannemannfuneralhome.com/book-of-memories/5670398/Koblin-Gerald/index.php In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Jerry’s memory to a local organization such as Nyack Center, People to People, Nyack Homeless Project, Four Legs Good (formerly Hi-Tor), or a deserving charity of your choice. |
