Then...       and       Now

School/College Highlights - Upper Nyack Schools, Nyack High School, Plattsburgh State College, Adelphi Suffolk, 90 hours Real Estate Sales/Broker

Marriage, Family, and Career Highlights - I married Richard Jamison 44 years ago. We met in college. After completing college we moved to Islip, Long Island. We raised five children - Kim, 43; Darey, 42; Jeff, 41; Kerrie, 39; and Jay, 34.

Our twelfth grandchild will be born in April. We currently have 3 granddaughters and 8 grandsons. Our first were twins - Jennifer and Jessica - 14 years old.

Kim lives in Bright Waters, Long Island. Darey is in Fight Hucade Point, Florida. Jeff is in Raleigh, NC; Kerri in Palm Beach, FL; and Jay in Madison, Connecticut.

After retirement we moved to Fort Lauderdale, Fl, for five years, but we couldn't take the heat and bugs. We moved to Raleigh 3 years ago. It's beautiful here. I have the home of my dreams on 1.5 acres - but no place for the boat. A move nearer the ocean could be possible.

Rich taught for New York State schools for 22 years, then became Director of Athletics at Dowling College in Florida.

I retired at age 58. I did substitute teaching for 17 years - we had too many children for full time teaching. .I then went into Real Estate Sales, then became a Broker - for 15 years.

Travel/Vacation Highlights - Our traveling consists of Florida to Massachusetts and back. When Rich was Athletic Director we were all over the USA.

Hobbies/Sports - Water Boating, Gardening, Grandchildren, Sewing, Creative Work, and decorating my home.

Civic/Church/Political Activities - With all these children and grandchildren there wasn't much time for other activities.

Anything else that you may want to say - For Joan Priest Jamison - Now that we both have Jamison as our last name - are we related?

We plan on spending a week in Madison, Connecticut to help with grandchild's (Number 11) first birthday on December 30. His is the same as his dad's, Jay.

All of our children and grandchildren flew in to surprise their dad for his 65th birthday. They arrived at 9:00 PM and really surprised him.

We really wanted to be there for this special occasion but had conflicting plans. I would really love to see everyone. My love to all. I'm sure it will be a great time and very special!
