Ronald Reavis, 77, of New City, NY, departed this life on January 7, 2016. He was born February 1, 1938 in Nyack, NY. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Bette Reavis, and son Shawn Reavis, as well as two brothers, John Reavis and Tony Sanders; Sisters Diane Rivera, Paulette Alston, Linda Caliman and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Ron was a lifelong Rockland County resident and spent many years as both a CYO Basketball Coach and a New City Ram Pop Warner Football Coach. Ron was also a member of the St. Augustine's Church in New City for nearly 40 years. Mr. Reavis was a veteran of the United States Army and spent many years working for the Laborers Local Union #754 as a construction foreman and executive board member and later in his career as a construction site supervisor. A devoted husband, and loving father, "Ron Reavis will be missed".
The family asks that in lieu of flowers please make donations to the United Hospice of Rockland. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 11th, 2016 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 12th, 2016, 10am at the funeral home followed by interment at Fred Loescher Cemetery, Spring Valley, NY.
