School/College Highlights - Lennox Hill Hospital School of Nursing,
A.A.S. - Rockland Community College, 1979
B.S.N. - Dominican College, 1982
M.S. - Pace University, 1986

Marriage and Family Highlights - I married Walter Gray in February, 1957. We have two children, Deborah and Kevin. Deborah graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas College with a degree in secondary education and a Masters from Iona College in English Literature. She is presently teaching English at North Rockland High School. Kevin was self-employed at his own auto-body shop for many years. He is presently employed as a special fraud investigator for a large insurance company.

Deborah and John have one child, Alexandra, age one. Kevin and Jan have one child, Anthony, age one. Both were born five days apart in April, 1999. We have been very busy ever since. They are wonderful babies!

Homemaker and/or Career Highlights - I was a stay at home Mom for many years before going back to school. General Motors Corporation, Walter's employer, allowed us to live comfortably during those years. We have owned several homes in Rockland County over the years, but the one I like the best is where we have been for the past 25 years - overlooking Lake DeForest in West Nyack.

In 1979 I began teaching nursing skills at Rockland Community College. I have also worked in Occupational Health Nursing and Geriatric Nursing, but I realized that I enjoyed teaching most of all. When Dominican College started its four-year nursing program (BSN) the director asked me to set up the nursing skills lab and join the faculty. I have been teaching at Dominican since 1982. I am a member of Phi Sigma Omecron and Sigma Theta Tau.

Travel/Vacation Highlights - One of our favorite summer vacation spots is Bar Harbor, Maine, a most spectacular place. While the children were growing up, we took them there every summer. When we don't feel like driving the 12 hours to get there, we enjoy the scenery on Cape Cod. We have spent many winter months on Sanibel Island, Florida, as work allows. We have traveled to many states in this fine country, but find that we like the Eastern Seaboard the best.

Hobbies/Sports - Photography, collecting Blue Depression Glass and large model ships, and watching the sunset over the lake have taken up many wonderful hours. Owning and appraising antiques and collector autos with Walter has been an interesting diversion from nursing and also allows us to travel to new places.

Civic/Church/Political Activities - We are members of St. Francis of Assisi Church in West Nyack.

Achievements/Awards/Outstanding Events - I have written the Guidelines for Certification of Nursing Students at Dominican College. It includes 15 procedures that must be passed during the student's sophomore and junior years. This requires continuous updating as procedures change in clinical settings.

Anything at all that you may want to say - Living in Rockland has allowed me to see some of our classmates on a regular basis. We frequently have dinner with Marge and Walter Arlt.
