Then...       and       Now

Family Highlights - I was married for 3 ½ years and have 2 children, Diana and John. During my marriage we moved 11 times, did a lot of exciting things and had some heartaches. I have two grandchildren, Savannah, 11 years old and Dakota, 8 years old. Now I am with my dear partner Patricia Walsh and she/we have twin boys, Noah and Aidan, 10 years old. My children and grandchildren are all nearby and we play and sometimes work together. My partner was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in 1997 and has undergone an operation and several bouts of chemotherapy but she is fine now so all is well.

Career Highlights - I am a visual artist (a sculptor) and have basically done this all my life. I work in my studio and exhibit. However, I have also done other things. In the sixties I went through an acting phase and appeared in several Off-Broadway productions. During that period I also did other things: I was a short order cook, a sales person for Bonwit Tellers, and a model for Bergorf Goodmans.

I also write and my second book, In the Footsteps of the Goddess. It has just been published by Knowledge Ideas and Trends Inc.

Hobbies - Martial arts (Tae Kwon Do - I've been doing it for 25 years and also teach it; and Kung Fu), mountain climbing, traveling.

Twenty five years ago I was part of a Children's Shakespeare group (I was the costume and set designer and stage manager); my children were part of the group and we performed 10 of Shakespeare's plays over the course of 5 years all over Rockland County. Now my daughter, who belonged to the original group, has started another Children's Shakespeare group. This year (our first year) we put on five performances of Midsummer Night's Dream. Both my grandchildren and my partner's children took part in the production. I was the assistant director, the set designer and the acting coach. I enjoy giving my time and effort to the next generation.

Anything at all that you may want to say - My goal is to be able to climb trees when I'm in my seventies. I have no intention of retiring.

Update 9/1/2005

Family Highlights:   After a 41/2 year bout with ovarian cancer my partner, Pat, died 3 years ago.  Just before she died I adopted Noah and Aidan who are now 15.  The year of her death, just after 9/11/01, was a very rough year for all three of us  but now both the boys and I are doing much better.  I have a new granddaughter, Zoe 2 years old,  from my son John and his wife Tanya who I delight in.

Career Highlights:  I am going to have a one person exhibit in October of this year at Ceres Gallery, NYC  (547 West 27th St).  The opening is Saturday, October 8 between 5-7 p.m.  The theme of my exhibition is "DISASTERS".

I am also writing my third book on Patriarchy to be published in the spring of 2006.

Hobbies - I still do martial arts - Tae Kwon Do and Kung Foo; am a fourth degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and  I still teach it locally.  I'm still involved in the Children's Shakespeare theater.  At this point we do 3 plays a year (all Shakespeare)  I still travel widely.  Last year my daughter, her children, Noah, Aidan and I travelled to Botswana and Namibia.

Anything you may want to say - I still would like to be able to climb trees when I'm 70 (2 years away..........) I had a knee replacement last year and am getting back into doing sports.  Went on a 5 day bike (30 to 40 miles a day) ride lately and my knee did just fine.
